"Jeremy"(6)

When violence became a predominant issue in the school systems, Pearl Jam wrote the song "Jeremy" to tell of a young boy's story on events that cause him to end his life. Pearl Jam writes to appeal to teenage bullies in schools today to show them how much bullying can really have an effect on a person's life. Creating a path up to ethos, the speaker has a remorseful tone tone when admitting to picking on Jeremy. Also, the writer states, "Daddy didn't give affection, no...", proving to the audience that Jeremy was not only teased in school, he was neglected at home by his parents. Jeremy is finally to a point of depression that he decides to take his own life. This purpose of this arguement is to teach a lesson to people who pick on others. Your words and actions can deeply affect a person and even cause them to commit an inhumanr act, such as Jeremy.

Reflecting on my Writing(5)

When I write a paper, I think my main problems are sometimes found in organization. I find myself getting excited and getting ahead of my thoughts. This causes my ideas to flow uneasy and get mixed up somewhere between my brain and the paper. I usually summerize a lot, when I should be analyzing or going into detail. However, I do find some strong points in my writing. I feel I have an understanding of most topics and I know whats going on. When my ideas do flow easily, I feel like I can write well. I like using describing words to give the reader a better picture when reading my papers. With practice, my writing will hopefully improve.

Intelligence(4)

To find an intelligent person, one may not need to look any further than at the man with the long hair you see riding his bike up and down local highways. To me, intelligence is a completely different quality than being smart. Being smart is scoring high on tests, reading and comprehending great novels, and doing math problems longer than some can even count. Even though when you hear the word intelligence, you probably think of someone who knows a lot about many things, but it goes in deeper. Intelligence can be measured by how someone lives and reacts in their surroundings. Like the long haired bike rider, he may not know what 2 x 2 is equaled to, but he could probably tell you some things about how to get around town or which place is next to which. Therefore, intelligence can be based on how someone takes situations in everyday life and applies them to their best ability. And just because you may not be as intelligent as most people in one field doesn’t mean you’re not just as intelligent in another.

TKB(3)

What is the difference between truth, knowledge, and belief? In my mind, these are three words that have three different meanings, but somehow all link together to help shape personal opinions or ideas. Knowledge is something you gain by either being taught or from experience. Without the knowledge of something you can't believe it, and without belief, there is no truth. To belive something is true, you must know about it. Truth is facts, something you are 100% ceratin about. But without belief, there really is no truth. When you believe in something you are sure about whatever it is. Therefore, without knowledege, there is no belief, and without belief, there is no truth.
